🔪 Knife Crime Presentation 🔪

Today, officers from the Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team visited Whaley Thorns Primary School to provide an informative session on the laws surrounding the possession and carrying of knives. During the visit, pupils were taught about the legal consequences of carrying a bladed article in a public place without a valid reason, including the fact that it is a criminal offence which can result in serious penalties.

The session also covered the wider dangers associated with knife crime and the importance of making safe, responsible choices.

The children were highly engaged throughout, listened attentively, and asked thoughtful questions. Their positive attitude and willingness to learn contributed to a productive and meaningful discussion on how to keep themselves and others safe.
